Huawei caught perpetrating camera BS

Lying: The Huawei way

Why do they do this?

Is the Huawei P9 camera good? Who knows. But it’s not EOS 5D MK3 good.

The Register:

It was soon found, however, that the photos had not been snapped with the P9’s camera, but rather a more expensive digital camera. Android Police discovered that the EXIF data on the image showed it was taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III, which lists at $2,599 for the body unit (lenses will cost you even more).

What is EXIF data?

Here is a shot of my crazy family:

Here is the data that sits behind this image, describing everything about it:

Now, usually social media will strip EXIF data from photos. However, I have pulled images from Facebook with partial EXIF data intact. Although the user who produced the photo might lie…EXIF doesn’t, unless it has been manipulated.

BigFat Louvre much?
