Granular adjustments to photos in iOS 8

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

One of the reasons the iPhone takes great photos and videos is because of the hardware based image signal processing and encoding. These processes are done on the ARM based A8 designed by Apple.

Filters can make an average shot look great. In my case they make an average shot look weird. If you didn’t know, the default filters can be broken down and rolled out on a scroll wheel so you can adjust them individually.

From here, the Light, Color, and Black and White options can be further rolled down to their individual components.

So so if you aren’t happy with the way your shot looks, tinker with these and you might find a great shot hiding in a pretty good one.

Here are some shots from Zion National Park. Photos
