As the weeks pass, Kirt McMaster’s 18 month timeline set last winter for an AppStore devoid of Google’s treachery are becoming more of a reality.

Passing over Google applications for productivity for open source Microsoft office apps, Cyanogen has partnered up with the big guys in Redmond. By doing so they break another link in the chain over Google’s strangle hold on Android.

Can Cyanogen turn Android from a mobile billboard for advertising into a community focused mobile operating system?
