What’s the best way to find alternatives for parts that do not exist anymore? | Quora

I used to work on a project called AVCOM:
Advanced Component Obsolescence Management.

It is a database of a wide range of electronics, avionics, chemicals etc., their OEM’s, part numbers, NSN’s and other data like the values, volatages, data sheets, form-fit-and function replacements are also included.
It is currently owned by BAE systems and is deployed on military weapon systems but they did have a commercial service that did the same thing.
MTI (manufacturing technology incorporated) was the acquisition who originally developed AVCOM.
They are out of Fort Walton Beach Florida.
