Frequent locations is not Gügl Now | cBS and Julie Watts drop the ball

Fear based reporting is The Stupid

Someone forgot to realize that frequent locations is not Google now. Frequent location data is local to the handset and is not back-end analyzed and tracked like the Gügl does with NOW on everything you do when you are armed with a Google Android handset.

While I’m appreciative to CBS for the privacy concern, it needs to be placed on the services that are NOT actually privacy-forward.

Otherwise the issue becomes obfuscated, and eventually worthless.

Frequent Locations: To learn places that are significant to you, your iOS device will keep track of places you have recently been, as well as how often and when you visited them. This data is kept solely on your device and won’t be sent to Apple without your consent. It will be used to provide you with personalized services, such as predictive traffic routing.

It’s disappointing that CBS tech journalism is just as worthless as the rest of its main-stream journalism.

The Stupid: It Burns

Burning stupid
Not only will the stupid kill you, it will hurt the whole time you are dying.
